A Sacred Law

The sun in all its glory is but a small symbol of God. It only shows how great and good God can be. But after all, it is only a sun. God is more than that. God is everything, the billion suns in the universe, the overpowering love that surrounds and holds everything together. The energy of love that is the glue, the reason for everything.

You know that it is impossible to hold sunlight in your hand. You may see it on the wall, you may see the results of it in a flower or a tree. You may see how things look without the sun, at night and remember how it was when the sun was shining. Sunlight cannot be touched or held in the hand, yet it is real. God is the same, God cannot be touched or held but can be felt, just as the sun is felt. And God can be felt as strongly as the sun. You may get too much sun and feel faint or get burned. This is the same with God. That is why God is so careful to not burn you. However, with all the strength God commands, God is gentle and careful with us. God has the power and energy to set worlds spinning yet can also touch us as gently as a feather, and make our hearts beat with love. With all this power, yet we cannot be made to love God. We must choose that, and God will not interfere. That is, God will not come to the door if we do not knock. God does want us there and wishes it with all their might. We were created to be a part of God; God wants us there, but cannot will it. God cannot will us to be there. Imagine how many hopes God has for us and yet cannot help us unless we ask. This would be a terrible thing to live with, especially if God sees us going the wrong way. Especially if God ever looks in on this small little planet with so much hope. But God is bound by this. It is another sacred law. Our hope is to touch those who need to be a part of God’s love. If we can help show them the love that is waiting there for everyone, then we will have done what we set out to accomplish. It is no small thing to teach about God’s love. People have died for it; others have been ridiculed and pitied in their own homes. It is not easy to show this to those who are hiding from it. But it is a good thing to try. So many things have happened in God’s name in the history of this planet that it is hard to separate the truth from the lies. The truth of God’s love is always the same. Man has his own story that he attaches to God’s, but that is not the truth.
